Vocabulary from “Chinese made easier”

March 12, 2011 · 9 Comments

A comment to my last post made me aware of the excellent vocabulary list available at www.chinesemadeeasier.com.

I converted the vocabulary list into .csv files which can be easily imported into KTdict. They are available at the following links:

Lesson 1 to 40: cme_ktdict L1 to L40.csv
Lesson 41 to 60: cme_ktdict L41 to L60.csv
Lesson 61 to 70: cme_ktdict L61 to L70.csv

Thanks to Martin Symonds – the author of Chinese Made Easier – for permission!

Your app is amazing! I have just purchased the paid version!

I just have one problem: I seem to be able to import CME lessons 1 – 40 and lessons 41 – 60.

But I am having problems importing CME lessons 61 – 70 and the HSK files.

I followed your instructions and downloaded the files twice but it still doesn’t work. Once I tap on “Open in KT Dict”, KT Dict opens but then shut downs before I get to the “import” page.

I also noticed a weird thing. On my desktop iMail, the attached HSK CSV file size is 391 KB but on my iPhone 4, the mail message says that the same file is 575 KB.

Is there a solution? Sorry – I am not good at technical stuff!

Seems to be a very helpful app, especially the flashcards tool. However, I cannot import .csv files, as my excel displays them as ???? or other strange characters. Any idea how to solve the issue?

Not really sure what you want to do. Do you want to import flashards from KTdict into EXCEL or from EXCEL into KTdict?

Problem seems to be that you cannot display Chinese characters in EXCEL. Depending on your version of Windows / EXCEL, you might have to install a Chinese language pack on your computer before you are able to see Chinese characters.

To import these files here into KTdict, you do not need EXCEL. KTdict can read them directly.

    Hey Klaus,
is there a solution yet for the import problem?
I can’t get to the import page with cme lessons 61-70 and with the hsk vocabulary. the program always shuts down.

    Thanks for the help
